Now is the time to set in motion a programme to address this issue. The charity’s emphasis now is not only on providing solar power to villages for irrigation etc. but to provide labour intensive programmes. To that end, it will install solar units with a charging unit for electric vehicles and solar power the workshops to enable the use of cordless tools in skills training, leading to more job creation.
This will all stem from the installation of a solar unit. By providing solar powered charging stations for electric vehicles – for people/cargo carriers and water carriers – food, water and other resources can be taken directly to the villages. All without the use of fossil fuels! This will help to address the issue of climate change and also encourage the village to build a good carbon footprint.
